When not a single one of the countries affected by the ban has had a citizen come to the United States and commit a terrorist act, while citizens from countries that have been exempted from the ban have, the idea that it is for the safety of the country is nonsense.

You’re only looking backwards; I think you need to look more broadly. If you turn you head and look at more broadly, you see what’s happening in Europe NOW, what you see is uncomfortably common incidents, primarily in Sweden and Germany, of social disruptions, attacks on women, etc., caused by or participated in by refugees. My sister in law lives in Gotenborg, and she has uncomfortable stories that are very close to her home. I have another sister in law north of Hamburg, and although her area has had no issues, there have been issues in Berlin, Munich, Frankfort, and other large cities. If those countries, who are very good and experienced at landing refugees, are having problems, I think it fanciful to believe that such will not occur here.

That article is kind of old news, and had Trump taken the time to look into it he would have learned about the changes made to address the concerns during the past year. You can read about them on that very site.

Well, neither you nor I know what Trump did or didn’t do. The point is that three were raised concerns, and it is not unreasonable to call a pause whilst an assessment is done. It’s certainly not the first time it’s been done or called for. Obama did a pause in 2011, Schumer suggested another one might be called for in 2015, and Bush did one after 9/11.

Regardless, the willingness to go into a complex and demanding job like a bull in a China shop is ridiculous. You cannot write this stuff off to a lack of governmental experience.

As I said, we are where we are. You have him for four to eight years, and God knows he did everything he possibly could to lose the election. So, we all ned to put our big boy pants on and get ready for a wild ride.

It is well known that Trump skips intelligence briefings, and God knows what else, because he thinks he’s smarter than anyone else. Which is the most likely reason he didn’t know anything about the contracts he signed, not he depended on lower level executives.

Every opinion you hold is clearly chosen to paint Trump in the worst light possible. Sorry, I’m not that cynical. When the ACA rollout bombed because the government IT people failed to do some very basic things and it was shown that there was virtually no White House oversight, I didn’t blame Obama; he’s not an IT guy, he didn’t know, and he didn’t know what he didn’t know.

Forgive me for not wanting to shoot the pilot while he’s flying the plane. :-)
