Yes these countries are seeing new COVID resurgence waves. So, what is the solution? Let us all just not wear masks and pretend that COVID is common flu ?

Precisely no one argued that, and I don't see how anyone logically derives that from the point I made.

Let the underprivileged and economically weak perish ? Let us just accept our fate and pretend everything is okay and and the world is the same ?

Obviously not.

Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr and many other leaders and forebears of the USA would STRONGLY disagree.

I would hope so. I strongly disagree also.

In Andy’s case the comparisons were right but in your example , I am afraid to say they are wrong. And it requires a teensy bit of critical thinking.

Well, I look forward to be educated, then. (/sarc)

Let’s take France for example, from the article you quoted. In the previous month the new cases were 81, this month the cases are approx 1100. But, this is after they opened up public spaces, a mistake on their part and a mistake that the quoted precautions can avoid.

I quite agree. And we’ve continued to see this pattern all over the US, where states (who have more control over local behavior than the federal government does, legally) make errors regarding the extent to which public spaces may be opened.

Also, we must not discount the fact that France did get their cases down to 81, which is an achievement not to be taken lightly. I challenge the current leadership that US reciprocates the same percent decrease.

Well, your argument seems to be that France is doing great and should be imitated because they got cases down to almost nil before they fucked up.

I’m not sure you want to die on that rhetorical hill.

The logical way to proceed would be to take precautions mentioned by Andy, and some more, and learn from the mistakes of the countries quoted in your article.

I'm all for it.

So, I am really not seeing where we're disagreeing, and why you think my short comment and citation displays any lack of critical thinking.
