Yes, I noticed this some time ago, specifically when somebody calls out things like the Smithsonian "thing" and even the 1619 Project for its bullshit, the cop-out response is "well, it's intent is to provoke discussion."
Well, the only "discussion" it provokes is "you're an idiot who understands neither sociology nor history." :-)
The other one that the OP continued to harp on was "you're ignoring our history of white supremacy."
Well, yes, of course, we're ignoring our history of white supremacy. Those people are dead and gone (or sucking on oxygen tubes in old folks homes, except for a tiny few who identify with the KKK or the Proud Boys or such) and the entire concept of generational guilt died out 2000 years ago.
What we do not ignore are CURRENT examples of racism where it sticks up its ugly head. The difficulty there for EVERYONE is that it's like a game of "wack-a-mole"; there's no pattern to where racism will stick up its head, because nobody has an agenda to perpetrate it.
Anyway, Pax. We're on the same page.
