Yep. Unmotivated HS students all need to know that there are myriad of jobs out there that pay well with full benefits that require only 6–24 months of bargain priced schooling. In six months you’re an EMT or drawing blood in a hospital lab; in a year, you can be various types of assistants to medical professionals; and in two years, you could be in a job that pays 70–90 a year to start.
And most of those jobs can’t be outsourced or automated away.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d be in some allied health job for sure. Technology has turned into a suckers game. None of these “coders” that are all over Medium are going to coding their entire lives (if they get through another 5 years, they’ll be lucky).
