Yep. The "Evangelical Christians want a Theocracy" is a bumper sticker quoted by anti-theists whose only contact with an EV Christian has been through (biased) news articles or something that some nut said on TV.
It's a big country, and there are hundreds of millions of Christians. You can't say the number of Christians who want a theocracy is -zero-, but it's so close to zero as to be ignorable.
As to the other point, yes, "equality", which has always been assumed to mean equality of opportunity, has been swapped for "equity", which seems to be the moniker we are now using for "equality of outcome". Although it's quite reasonable to acknowledge that we all don't start the race of life from the same starting line, we're not going to survive as a society if we keep moving the finish lines back and forth based on race.
