Yep. I have pointed out before (and because of our history, this comes as a shocking assertion to those on both sides of the issue) that there is nothing in conservative or libertarian thought that precludes labor collectives.

So, why are US conservatives so opposed to unions? Well, that’s kind of what the blowback looks like when labor unions have, for decades, provided most of the financial fuel for the political opponents of the conservatives.

If the labor unions had decided, instead of throwing all in with one party, to split their financial influence by supporting labor friendly politicians regardless of their party, then the GOP would not be so anti-union.

There’s a saying about having to lie in the bed than you made, that comes to mind.
