Works both ways.

A few years ago my husband came in from outside chuckling. We had just had a big pile of mulch dumped in our driveway, for spreading around on the tree beds.

Asking him what was so funny, he said “Well, this old redneck guy was driving the delivery truck. After he dumped the load, he asked me ‘so, you have anyone here to help you move all this?’ I said ‘No, I have just my wife and daughter here.’”

He laughed and told me “Well, at least you’ll have somebody here to tell you you’re doing it wrong.”

It’s not just men who do the ‘splaning, dear. We drive them nuts too. :-)
