It’s peculiar, too, that the general public agrees with this outdated worldview.

Well, maybe it’s really “logical”, and not “outdated”.

Democrats are responding as you’d expect — with moral and political outrage.

Well, that’s sort of in keeping with their reputation as the Party of Free Stuff. But if history is any guide, they’ll huff and puff and won’t blow anything down, because of the polling you just cited.

Actions to tie health coverage to work are motivated purely on the basis of ideology and mistaken assumptions about what Medicaid is and who it covers.

Well, the “ideology” is that society has a right to expect an able-bodied adult to pull their weight. That seems uncontroversial and rather moral, when you think about it.

CAP’s “Medicare Extra for All” plan is not perfect, by any means. But it does create a program that “would be available to all Americans regardless of income and employment status.”

That bold vision is exactly the type of policy choice which will propel Democrats back into power.

Mmmm. Until the citizens get the bill. As the writer you link to states:

This imbalance would significantly inflate the cost to taxpayers and undercut the savings that could otherwise be realized in a single, unified system.

….and what he then DOESN’T state is the tax increases that would be required to fund that single, unified system.

But, do what you want to do. Until costs are brought under control by market forces, it really doesn’t matter what kind of health care scheme the US tries. It’s all just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic whilst the ship is sinking.

Free markets/free minds. Question all narratives. If you think one political party is perfect and the other party is evil, the problem with our politics is you.
