Well, I am not about to start discussing Christian theology in its broader theological implications. That’s a debate that Christians need to have with themselves, without Muslims in the peanut gallery chiming in.

My interest here is in discouraging this sort of “shotgun exegesis” which seems to be all the vogue amongst “reformers” in their various faiths, and those who like to say “I’m spiritual” but unassociated with any given religious tradition.

As you say, believe what you like, but either be prepared to either defend it from the history and the documents of your faith, or admit that you’ve created a new faith and cut your ties with the old one.
