Well, I am a Muslim, all my in-laws are Muslim immigrants, and I think every vote in my extended family was for Trump. Except for one niece who voted in her first election in 2016, and when she laid out her reasons…..turns out she had just bought off on some bad information. Not saying that would have changed her vote, but the REASON she had voted the way she did was due to propaganda (she’s a college student, she sees plenty of it).
We (my extended family) are intelligent people. All professionals and most with advanced degrees, although there is one nephew that we’re having trouble getting to launch. :-). We are easily able to tell the difference between anti-Muslim rhetoric and anti-Muslim-terrorist rhetoric. And we know that the latter is not directed at us personally.
Regrettably, it seems that the American left CANNOT tell the difference between the two, and attempts to use that semantic confusion as a wedge issue.
