In one word, Peterson is a conservative.
Well, half the country (perhaps a little more than half, actually) consider that word a compliment, rather than a pejorative.
But, just for fun, and since your article was basically a straw man (you found definitions of all these ideologies that suited you, then drew conclusions from them, even though there are other and far more broad definitions afoot) let’s toss out another one:
- Conservatives understand, perhaps more intuitively than consciously, that the institutions and mores that form the backbone of a civilized society are difficult to develop, and are developed over long periods of time.
- Conservatives also understand, again more intuitively than consciously, that those institutions and mores, can be destroyed rather quickly by constituencies that don’t understand how important they are, and who will be shocked when afterwards, society doesn’t really improve the way they thought it would.
