Well, Albrecht isn’t wrong to be concerned long term; obviously, as the Earth’s population grows, certain accomodations have to be reached so we don’t exceed our “carrying capacity”, as it were. And there’s no reason not to start now, with some easy and simple baby steps.

Also, it seems to me that the technologies required to make major inroads into fossil fuel usage are developing on schedule, and therefore will be available to us at the proper time so as to enable major changes in our environmental impact. So, let’s all prudently make those changes as they become feasible at the proper time.
