True social conservativism leans libertarian. I would suggest to you that today’s “social conservatives”, to which you refer, are not really conservatives at all, in this regard.
So, since it seems that your criticisms of my post focus on social conservatism rather than economic conservatism (which is always front and center in my mind, personally) I don’t think there’s much else to add. It is not at all unusual for economic conservatives to take a “who cares?” position on matters such as homosexual rights, preferring to let those matters take care of themselves organically, as I previously mentioned.
