This is just wrong.
“Bootcamp” is education. I hire as part of my job, technical consultants, and I don’t want bootcamp people either. Or vocational tech people. Nor recent grads. I want people who already know what the job is going to look like before they walk into the door.
The company is completely with its rights, and it makes logical sense, to want to hire people with work experience rather than somebody with only educational experience. It happens every day to people, resulting in them asking “Well, if everyone wants somebody with experience, how do I get that first job that gives me that experience?”
Discrimination against nontraditional education is also common. If they do take new hires, many will only take them from traditional schools, and not vocational privates like ITT Technical and the like.
Go out, get your first job, perform well, and then nobody gives a shit. But until you do that, HR departments give a shit. And they should.
