Trump’s reckless, vengeful sacking of whistleblowers will end whistleblowing altogether.
This is a very odd thought.
First off, any leader has to be able to trust the people he works with. To remove that right of a leader (corporate, political, whatever) to create his or her own “team” potentially removes the ability of that leader to lead.
Secondly, nobody was “sacked”, in that they no longer have a job. They were reassigned. These are intelligence and military careerists who work for different departments of the government, who were *assigned* to the NSA for what they all knew would be a finite period of time, before they received another assignment.
So…..kind of a nothingburger here, when it comes to the entire concept of whistleblowing.
