This is a lot of what I have been thinking about lately.
The data on hospitalization and mortality appears VERY skewed to those with pre-existing conditions, specifically diabetes and immunodeficiency diseases (of which old age is a subset of the latter), to the tune of about 90%. This forces one to wonder if the 10% or so which do *not* have a pre-existing condition or are elderly simply had some sort of undiagnosed complicating factor, such as early-stage lupus.
There is so much we still do not know.
