You’re setting up a straw man here so you can knock it down. Let’s instead discuss rationally.

The ban was directed against two categories of nations: (a) Iran, the primary state sponsor or terror (which is not a debatable statement), and (b) other nations for whom proper vetting procedures are difficult to establish, because they either refuse to assist us or cannot assist us (e.g., failed states or states in chaos — — also not debatable).

If you’re going to complain, you need to first complain truthfully.

It is now permanently associated with an extremely effective terrorist recruitment plan.

As a Muslim, I always find this “reasoning” interesting, and not in a good way. Because it’s faulty reasoning.

Let’s put aside, for the moment, this specific issue of the temporary travel ban. What you’re essentially arguing that the government should (a) NOT take an effective action to protect its citizens or wage war against international terrorism IF (b) it assists terrorists in recruitment.

Well, news flash for you: Every effective action the US could possibly take to to protect its citizens from or war against terrorism will assist terrorists in recruitment. Everything.

So, if your top priority is to not assist terrorists with recruitment….you’re pretty much left with one alternative, which is “surrender”. :-)
