In case you don’t remember…….before the ACA people who forgot that they were treated for a urinary tract infection 20 years ago were denied coverage based on the fact that they didn’t disclose that they had a “pre existing condition” after the insurance companies scoured health records looking for a reason to deny claims.
That’s…..not really relevant to the situation at hand. Back then, there WERE no plans in existence that didn’t use a pre-existing condition clause. Now there are. So, a person who has such a problem with a company who is using a pre-existing condition clause always has the option to hop on to an ACA-compliant plan which does not have such a restriction.
So….not seeing the problem, here.
But by all means remain smug. I’m sure you’ve got this all figured out.
