I would never attribute a single reason, but I would say that is at least one of the reasons millennials hesitate to work. The money they pay in taxes goes to those who spent beyond their means before they were even born.

That’s legit, but make sure you target the right people.

When you look at the fiscal problems of the three Big Programs (Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid) 90% of that fiscal imbalance is the latter two, not Social Security. SS is easily fixable; the other two are not.

More interestingly is WHY those fiscal imbalances exist. When each of those programs were initiated, they all paid for themselves through payroll taxes; there was no fiscal imbalance on any of them. So…..what happened?

Well, you can blame the Boomers if you want, but NOT because we spent too much; it’s because we stopped having babies at the same rate as the WW2 generation. So……the balance of retirees to workers got out of whack.
