The South is today Red/Conservative/Republican and still wants to fly the Confederate Flag, their admitted symbol of racial supremacy. Lincoln would therefore be on the side of the northern (Blue/Liberal/Democratic) states today.
You’re assuming that all Republicans, or most, approve of racism as demonstrated by the Confederate flag. There is in fact no data that shows this. Sans such data, one would assume that Lincoln would not re-align himself, but in fact be one of the Republican majority that finds racism repugnant.
