That’s correct. And it backs up what I’ve been saying all along.
If you want to move the needle on things like these senseless mass shootings, the ONLY way to do that is a massive, Australia-like ban on firearms, not these little piddling nibble-around-the-edges measures the Democrats keep suggesting, which are designed to make it appear they are doing something about “the problem”, but at the same time not upset their gun-owning constituents (of which they all know they have many) too much.
Unfortunately, in the US, there’s only one way to enact Australia, and that’s to amend the Constitution; and nobody outside of a sanatorium belives that’s possible to do in todays’ charged political climate.
Hence, the demagoguery coming from the left on this issue. Everyone knows there is only one say to “fix” the problem. But the left needs to sell the idea that there’s “another way” to their voters, while the GOP simply takes the position that “you people know that none of that shit you’re proposing will work.”
So, we’re caught in limbo. :-(
