If you don't understand the issue, just say so.

It's not a matter of religion OR opinion. It's a matter of somebody (you) taking a casual look at *translations* of classical texts which have been studied by experts (both religious and non-religious) in their oriiginal for centuries, which have agreed upon understandings which have stood for centuries, and slapping an interpretation on them which (on top of it all) requires you to use the word "rape" in a way outside of its meaning, which is (just to add another aspect) diminishing to every rape victim in the world.

As far as lanes are concerned:

1) Are you a trained scholar in the exegesis Biblical texts?

2) Are you a theologian?

3) Are you a Hebrew or Aramaic linguist trained in how vocabulary was commonly used in the period in question?

If you answer any of those "Yes", I retract my criticism. If not, it stands.
