Spot on.

Reading the Blue Checks on this subject has been entertaining. Three major themes have popped up, I notice:

1) The old nonsense about Glenn being a closet Trumper is back again, the "evidence" being that he goes on Tucker Carlson's show.

(Apparently the notion there is that journalists must only be seen on the outlets of the "Tribe" to which they wish to be associated; being seen on an outlet not approved by the Tribe is verboten. The Blue Checks fail to realize that this notion more evidence that the journalistic profession has gone into the trash bin. If you're afraid of being seen on Fox News, you're not much of a journalist.)

2) Amazingly, Glenn's been accused of resigning his job for the money! One Blue Check pointed out that some (I assume they are referring to Matt Tabibi) journalists on Substack are making over 10K a month!

(Again, it seems to go over the heads of the Blue Checks that if Substack is where the money is, that means that the best and brightest will be on Substack; and if they themselves are NOT there, then they must not be the best or the brightest. :-) But of course, the idea that Glenn will make more money on Substack rather than be employed is highly doubtful. )

3) Then, there are the "psychoanalysts", the ones that say that this has something to do with Glenn's sexual orientation (yes, I've seen that) or something.

(This is a common thought on the progressive left, I notice. Nobody who disagrees with them could possibly be doing it out conviction --- no, they must be working for the Russians, or a corporate toadie, or something like that. A person must have a fairly enormous ego to believe that their own positions are so perfect that no reasonable person could ever disagree with them.)

But, well, this changes quite a bit after the election, should Biden win. I disagree with Glenn on this point. After the first 100 days, after which the Biden Administration will settle into a far more mundane role, (hopefully) becoming somewhat boring, the about 50% of these progressive Blue Checks are going to find themselves out of a job. Nobody drives eyeballs to a news site like Trump does, and without Trump, there;'s going to be a lot less appetite for news.
