Okay, then remember that, while you take note of what it is these organizations funded by the DOJ do all day, and that protecting women from violence has zilch to do with it.
Sorry, not going to spend my time reading something that drives home a point with which I already agree :-).
The idea that the government funds a special task force to address “Violence Against Women” is already noxious to me, even if 100% of the money was being spent on “violence against women” related matters.
Now, lest the virtue signallers misunderstand that statement and decend upon me, let me clarify WHY I make that statement. I make it because as an egalitarian, it is already illegal to commit violence against anyone. Period. Enough said. It should not be MORE illegal to commit it against women than men, people of different races, people with physical challenges…….whatever.
Now, if the government wanted to set up a “Rape Task Force” within the DOJ, to study this particular crime, as it has rather unique characteristics, that’s fine, I suppose. As long as their charter was limited to study and not prosecution.
But to create something with a mission so vague as to study all “violence against women”, and give them a broad enough charter to do with the money pretty much what they want, along with prosecutorial powers? I agree wholeheartedly that that is very, very bad governance.
