Probably worth mentioning that, arguably, the Republican that has the most to gain from a Trump removal is Romney.

But, what I find more entertaining is how amongst the left, certain GOP politicians pop into favor when they have the courage (it’s always called ‘courage’, you notice; self-interest, if it exists, is always ignored) to buck their parties and do what the left wants them to do.

John McCain was the last great example of this. During the Bush Administration, he was the media darling who always had the “courage” to buck things like the Bush tax package. John often had critical things to say about the Man Who Beat Him for the nomination, but of course his motivation was for “America”, never self-interest.

Then, he ran for president against Obama, and he instantly became a ignorant corporatist warmongering tool. :-)

So, Romney will now have his day. He’ll make the rounds of the media talk shows, and all the partisans who masquerade as “journalists” will pat him on the back for his “courage.”

Good for you, Mitt. Just don’t ever expect those same people to like you if you run for president again.
