No. Think about it.

If you can indict a sitting president, which puts the president into the position of having to deal with legal matters while he’s supposed to be running the country, then the opposition party will just start throwing all sorts of legal shit up against the President, because even if a charge is bullshit, you’d be forcing the President to meet with lawyers, give depositions, and particpate in the legal process instead of actually getting stuff done.

So, I start doing opposition research against sitting presidents, and spend four years making him take a couple of hours a week with bullshit, and I run out the clock until the next election, when I can get my guy elected.

If it turns out that a President can be indicted, we’re sentenced to an eternity of government doing nothing.
