My only grouch about this is using a tourist-driven economy as the comparison. Small-population nations with a heavy economic driver that pays the bills (Curacao, Panama, Norway, UAE) don’t have to run real world economies. Sovereign wealth covers up whatever they want to do politically.

Better to perhaps have used Trinidad Tobago, which has a larger population, not as tourist-driven, but taps the same oil fields that Venezuela does.
