“And now a story of a humanitarian trying to help Syria: the suspicious death in Turkey last month of James Le Mesurier, the co-founder of the White Helmets rescue organization in Syria,” opens PBS News Hour’s Judy Woodruff. “Friends and colleagues fear that he may have been murdered or driven to suicide by a campaign of character assassination.”

More likely he was riddled with guilt by his role in perpetrating a fraud that led to a massive humanitarian crisis, nearly creating Iraq-on-Steroids in the process.

I (again) point out that for anyone (like myself) with relatives on the ground in Syria, (a) the idea that Assad would use chemical weapons against his own population was laughable, and (b) that the US caused more problems there than they solved.
