What’s happening in this country is that the left’s radicalism and insanity are driving people into the arms of the GOP out of necessity.

Maybe. But a couple of years ago (Lyman Stone wrote an article about it) the flow of millenials into urban areas reversed, and they started flowing back out to the suburbs.

You move to the suburbs after you marry and have kids; the fact that the 2008 recession had delayed household formation for the millenials is well documented. This delay caused an outsized delay in the politics of the millenials switching from urban concerns (which Dem policies address) to family concerns (which GOP policies address).

Put another way, what’s more likely happening is the classic “mugged by reality”. They’ve got their house, got their kids, got their two cars…. and no spare change from month to month. They’re looking at those tax withholdings and saying “GAAAAaaaaaaa………..!”

So, millennial centrists start voting GOP, millennial liberals become centrists, and a glob of those millennial progressives become liberals. Everyone moves one step to the right.

Free markets, free minds. Question all narratives. If you think one political party is right and the other party is evil, the problem with our politics is you.
