A year after graduation, nobody gives a shit about where you went to college, much less what your GPA was.
From there, it’s all performance on the job.
Though some celebrate this news, it seems unlikely to me that students simply care less about English and Philosophy than they used to.
I also think it’s unlikely. But you don’t need to major in something to study it in depth. Do a double major, or just concentrate all your electives in your avocation.
Reality is, however, that with tuitions having been raised (for no good reason) to unconscionable heights by the universities, and the non-STEM disciplines (with a few notable exceptions) paying shit compared to STEM, it’s harder and harder to justify the cost of one of those degrees. There’s no ROI.
