John McWhorter made an interesting observation on Maher's show this week --- that the "norms" that the "woke" are attempting to foist on everyone are utterly simplilstic in nature. They are dichotomies. Good vs evil. Up vs down. Alive vs Dead. And any suggestion that one can hold nuanced views is met with derision. With us 100% or against us 100%.

A review of the twitter attack on Atwood the last few days was a good example. Because she retweeted an article that said nothing more offensive that "sex is real", it meant that she was promoting violence against trans people.
