Ok, you were of the camp there isn’t much we can do about it so it’d be unfair to expect much more than this.

If you want immediate results, yes, you’re likely to be disappointed. In attiudinal problems such as this, it’s not unusual to have to wait for the “bad people” to die off, replacing them with “not so bad people”, and eventually you get to “good people.”

If you prefer, we can take every child from their parents at infancy and raise them in a controlled environment to insure they’re “woke”. Sound better to you?

Yes, I do prefer. How do we do this?

Revolution and the installation of a communist government ought to do it. Good luck with it.

So which is it? Is it not common or is it so common it’s generational?

The activist you referred to indicated that there are 382,000 incidents per year, down substantially from previous years. To quote:

The rate of sexual assault and rape has fallen 63% since 1993, from a rate of 4.3 assaults per 1,000 people in 1993, to 1.6 per 1000 in 2015.

As I said in my previous post, we seem to be winning the battle against sexual assault, and if my theory is correct and the solution is a greater awareness, we should see another substantial dropoff in a few years, which will be nice.

If I need to do all the work again and prove to you that this problem is common then what gives you the grounds to declare there is no rape culture?

Define “common”. The rate is 1.6 per 1000, which is about half of the rate of motor vehicle theft in the US. However, I wouldn’t say we had a “motor vehicle theft culture” either.

Source on both these claims? You aren’t even aware of how common the problem is.

I am looking at the statistics above, and now putting them in perspective. The rate is half that of theft.

And source that alcohol is the primary catalyst for sexual harassment and assault?

I never used the term “primary catalyst” and wouldn’t agree that it was. Further, you’re adding in “harrassment” to “assault” which are two entirely different matters. The point is that alcohol lowers social behavioral inhibitions to taboo behaviors.

And even if you were to somehow get rid of alcohol which you can’t, it doesn’t rid of those desires.

Well, those “desires” are part of the biological reproductive imperative in some cases, so yes, they’re not going away.

So, we still have the problem of people manufacturing circumstances they can get away with it, targeting the weak, etc.

Yes, we do.
