I was thinking about this in graphical format. You start with SJW human causes, starting with….well, the VRA, if you like, The VRA and Civil Rights legislation addressed inequity in 12% of the population. The abortion movement addressed inequity in 50% of the population.

Those are large numbers of people.

Then, we moved to gay marriage. Probably 4% of the population affected by this inequity.

Then…….we went to …….where transgendered people go to potty. :-) MAYBE this inequity (if you can call it that; I know some transgendered people, and they become very adept at where they can safely access “services” and where they’ll cause a stir; and they RARELY want to cause a stir) affects…. 6/10’s of 1% of the population.

Not surprising that this latest push has met up with more successful opposition than any of the others. It’s simply not a large enough population to get political traction.
