I suspect Cato has done some work on this. But you’re absolutely correct — if you got rid of the corporate tax completely, (a) business would boom, (b) hiring would boom, (c ) you’d get an offsetting increase in income tax collection…..AND (d) all those lobbyists would be out of work (estimates are that about 80% of corporate lobbying is focused at obtaining and holding on to preferential tax treatment.)

You’d be removing a substantial part of corruption in government in one fell swoop.
