f you are ignorant about a subject, do not come on here to blame knowledgeable people.
I quite agree. You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.
I have a disabled kid.
I have one that’s not disabled. Does that mean I don’t have as much moral authority to discuss this issue as you do?
Oh, wait. I also have a teaching degree, a teaching certificate, and some years teaching in the public school system, at the lowest end of the income ladder, and have of course dealt with children with disabilities who were mainstreamed into my classes.
And you are fucking calling ME ignorant? God, I feel sorry for your child.
Why is someone with zero experience in education the leader of the education department in this country?
Well, that’s at least a somewhat interesting question. What constitutes “experience in education”? If it’s classroom teaching or school administration, you’re right. But if “experience in education” is spending decades involved in the debates we have in this nation about the best way to improve our teaching outcomes, then experience she has.
But, let’s not belabor that point. I agree that she was not the best choice. I would have preferred the CEO of any one of the dozens of successful charter school operators that have improved educational outcomes for minority children in this nation. But you know what? People of your ilk would have complained just as loudly, because successful charter school corporations are an embarrassment to the public school purists.
Because of her millions of dollars of donations to the Republican party. That’s Republican corruption at work for you.
Laughs. You don’t know anything about Penny Pritzker is, do you? :-)
Stop already with your ignorance. This woman, who was born a billionaire and married a billionaire
This evil woman, Betsy Devos, has rescinded 72 whole guidance documents outlining the rights of disabled students.
Why did she do that? If your only answer is “she’s evil” then I’m not the one whose ignorant.
She reversed policies on campus sexual assault.
Nope. She reversed GUIDANCE that schools had interpreted in such a way as to remove due process rights from students accused of sexual assault. Even left-leaning commentators said that that particular guidance was problematic legally. Over time, she probably saved a lot of institutions of higher learning from getting their asses sued off.
The Uncomfortable Truth About Campus Rape Policy
At many schools, the rules intended to protect victims of sexual assault mean students have lost their right to due…
She has steered money away from public schools.
Public schools are funded locally.
She has removed protections against discrimination of LGBTQ students.
Oh, please. Again, the White House issued some guidelines. There was no teeth behind them. Schools carried on as usual.
She has halted student loan forgiveness programs.
For which I applaud. We should stop enabling universities to raise tuitions, knowing they can just feed at the taxpayer’s trough of money when they do.
Stop being so ignorant already. Just learn to read what is going on all around you.
