However, it seems rather clear to me that because (a) power usage is correlated with standard of living, and assuming (b) that the “solution” is *not* to return to an agrarian style of living, then
(c ) technology is part of the solution, both to abate fossil fuel usage through renewables, and when that’s insufficient, to use it to coexist.

I mean, if any amount of warming is inevitable, it would be rather irresponsible to not consider how to put dikes around Manhattan, and how to make a/c units more efficient, eh?
