‘All opinions are valid’ is the rallying cry of those whose name won’t be the first on the list to be gotten rid of.
There’s three ideas now kicking around, and there doesn’t seem to be a clear distinction being made between them:
- “All opinions are valid” is nonsense, prima facie. I expect we agree.
- “All opinions have the right to be heard” is a notion that would be held by an individual trying to impose an outcome. Don’t agree with that either.
- “All opinions have the right to speak” is the law of the land, which I support.
