I don’t know how you get to that conclusion.

Apparently you think that people see the dysfunction in Washington, and take their cues from it. I disagree. We know that a huge majority of Americans don’t engage politically between presidential election cycles; even the vaunted Fox News machine only plays to 3M or so on a good night. There are 120M voters in America.

I think it’s the other way around. The working class is pissed because they see their jobs going away or being taken by illegals, and their tired of hearing Washington tell them they’re wrong because “the statistics shows that globalism and immigration are net positives to the economy”. So, they elect representatives that appeal to how pissed off they are.

Yea, they’re “net positives” all right. If you’re a megacorporation or a CxO.

The lefties are pissed because they see a culture which to them is fundamentally unfair; and they see the solution as increased authoritarianism that forces “fairness”. So, they elect representatives who that appeal to their “pissed off ness”.

It starts with US.
