I don’t care about the attack, to be honest. In a $4T budget, 59m is a rounding error. And if the purpose was just to say “cut that shit out” vis a vis the chem weapons, and the message got through, then it’s money well spent.
The problem is that the neocons are really really sure it was Assad, and unless you had eyes on the guys loading the plane that dropped them, it’s hard for me to believe they are as sure it was Assad as they say they are.
And of course, if there were eyes on that plane…..they won’t tell us, because “classified.”
THEN, the next problem was that the it wasn’t five minutes after the attack that the neocons were out trying to force Trump’s next move by spouting the narrative to the press that if this was just a one off, it was a waste of time, and needed to be followed by more and more and more.
And, of course, the press was gobbling it up, because the only thing that’s better for CNN’s ratings than a good political food fight is a war.
