I didn’t ask you to agree with it; I simply said it was one of the longest standing axioms of internet discussion, dating back to (at least) ARPAnet.

My take? Lots of people are busy and dash off quick responses to things constrained by the time they have. Asking people to conform to high standards of spelling and grammar risks cutting off valuable discussion.
