Cost control is necessary but you cannot put the burden on the individual to “choose wisely.” There is no market as inefficiently priced and lacking as much transparency as the healthcare market.

I assume that such a system would require full cost transparency on the part of the provider for each service. If that’s not achieved, you’re right, the consumer cannot choose wisely.

If it is, they are enabled to make those choices.
