I am reminded of the old adage — — “We get the President we deserve.”

Our national debate has been devolving now for three decades. And as long as the two parties refuse to work together and compromise to solve problems (which is required by our form of government), and instead try to exert power to force the other into submission…….Trump will not be the last of his kind, nor will he be the most bizarre.

And……the politicians are a microcosm of us. They behave the way they do because that’s how we want them to behave.

Oh, there are a few who say they want a return to collegiality….but they are shouted down by those preaching doom and destruction unless “their party” wins the day, grinding the other into the dirt.

Oh, by the way Beto…..you’re part of the problem. You dropped more than a few rhetorical bombs when you were in politics.
