Capitalists need government; government doesn’t need capitalists.

Hmmm. I think that Caity’s original article is essentially saying that the capitalists are *becoming* the government, with the two less and less distinguishable. So, I think it probably better to keep in mind that if you put enough capitalists together in a room, they could buy themselves a subcontinent and run their own government pretty easily.

Government has the authority to issue its own currency to spend on whatever it wants.

True, but it doesn’t control the value of the currency. Nor does it control the citizen’s decision to accept its currency or not.

We must demand that fiscal policy for public purpose be used again, as government is designed to do, remove Wall St from government finance management and never let them lie to us again.

Well, you can demand all you like; you’re suggesting a total change to the entire globe’s financial system, because one country, even as large as the US, can’t make a change like this alone.
