As of January 1, 2018, a federal law is taking effect making it illegal for companies to ask an applicant what their previous employer(s) paid them.
Hm. What law is that? And whose idea was it? Big risk here of unintended consequences.
The last salary earned is key, when making a professional job change, to negotiating the new salary with the new employer.
If they can’t ask me, I’ll tell them anyway.
