For some decades now. Definitely since the Depression and WW2. See “unitary executive”.
Demonization of minorities
Since the founding of the Republic. Irish ghettos. Italian ghettos. Black ghettos. Abuse of asians during westward expansion.
Glorification of the majority
Cart-horse problem, here. Is the current media intimidation, to the extent it exists, a natural reaction to media bias? Or, has the media been as clean as the driven snow, and is suddenly under assault under fascistic principles?
Purges and putsches
I can’t think of a time when this didn’t happen.
Segregation (laws designed to separate minorities from majorities)
This no longer exists. Nobody has suggested bringing them back.
Expropriation (the legal seizure of the assets of minorities)
Can’t remember when this didn’t happen. And to both the majority AND the minorities.
Detainments, repression, internment
Well, that’s kind of part of our history as well.
Fortunately, we seem to have never engaged in this, and there’s no expectation that we will start. At least we drew the line someplace. :-)
We are already halfway along the pathway of fascism. And it is only week one. No. That isn’t exact.
No, it’s not exact. We’ve always been heading down that path, more or less, for decades. More about that here:
