Yet we are still supposed to believe this is fake news?

Depends on how you’re defining “fake news”.

  • The things Manafort et al are accused of happened well before his association with Trump, if my read of that is correct. Mueller’s investigative authority led him down that rabbit hole, but there’s nothing there that implicates the POTUS in anything illegal. Period.

We don’t do “guilt by association” in the US. Just because all your associates are cads doesn’t mean that you’re a cad yourself.

  • Flynn, inexplicably, seems to have lied to the FBI and the VPOTUS about doing something that wasn’t illegal, unless you think the Logan Act should actually be invoked against a president’s official transition team. (Meaning that every presidential transition team in our lifetimes was in violation of the Logan Act.)

So, no, none of THAT is fake news. What seems to be “fake news” is the implication there’s any way to connect dots between something illegal and something Trump did. So far there’s not.
