We have had the ability to biochip humans for some time, the goal being to constantly monitor any number of biomarkers which could provide early detection and remediation for any number of diseases or conditions.

Of course, biochipping runs up against a huge number of privacy and religious concerns, so it’s not in the cards for most, at least not for some time yet to come.

That all said, it would be very helpful to doctors if you could ship them a file containing a history of your vitals over time.

Of course, the problem is that people would start to try and interpret the data themselves, and we’d turn into a nation or neurotic hypochondriacs. :-(
