Bingo. The neocons/military industrial complex has been apoplectic about Trump’s populist campaign rhetoric since he had the audacity to suggest that the US perhaps should *not* be front and center of every world conflict that exists.

Consider the possibility that the neocons/MIC’s found an opportunity (or, if you’re into conspiracy theories, created one) to bring Trump over to their way of thinking. An all you needed was a few well-placed lies about how certain we were of the source to tip the scales, and bring Deep State President McCain back into a position of power.
