Being older, I am rather sanguine about the politics of this matter. It’s like “Gee, what else is new”?

Being a moralist of sorts, I will simply say that the left-leaning US party told women like myself very clearly in the 1990’s that the sexual abuse of women by a powerful political figure is perfectly OK.

Of course, we all know what they really mean. It’s OK if the powerful political figure is a Democrat. If he’s a Republican, he should be gassed, electrocuted, hung, and run out of public life forever.

But what is more to the point here is that just as the Clinton incidents and subsequent defenses stuck a sock in whatever would be akin to the MeToo movement almost 30 years ago. Now, we’re about to have that sock stuffed in our mouths again by the same people, who ironically removed the sock for a season so voices could be raised against an abuser president that they didn’t like.

So, thirty years…..well, when the next “MeToo” movement appears in or around, oh, 2050, we’ll at least know what the playbook is.

Free markets/free minds. Question all narratives. If you think one political party is perfect and the other party is evil, the problem with our politics is you.
