Appreciate you drawing these lines so clearly.

I've been arguing much the same, from the other side of the fence, as the social democrats in the US attempted to co-opt the term "socialism" to describe the Nordic model. "Social Democracy" and "Socialism" share nothing more than six letters; Social Democracy is an entirely capitalistic system with relatively high levels of taxation and social spending; far from being opposed to capitalism, it DEPENDS on capitalism to pay the bills. Democrats always seem to notice that the Nordics rank high on lists of social spending; for some reason, they never seem to notice that the Nordics also rank highly on lists of countries where the free market is permitted to run relatively unencumbered, even when compared to the US.

Socialism, OTOH, is an entirely different economic system.

Bernie Sanders, AOC, and all the "progressives", when accused of actually being socialists, inevitably push back; they're capitalists at heart. The only difference is that they'd like the profits to flow a little differently.

Free markets/free minds. Question all narratives. If you think one political party is perfect and the other party is evil, the problem with our politics is you.
